Guide for Shipping/Delivery from/to Oversea

Shipping from/to Oversea

When you send your Samples, equipment and other cargo for experiments to SPring-8/SACLA via delivery service, please arrange to receive these items yourself. Alternatively, if you are unable to receive them personally, you may send them in care of the SPring-8/SACLA Users Office of JASRI.
From 2021A beamtime, for shipping from overseas, please follow the procedures (1)-(3) below, in order to ensure proper customs clearance and prevent delays at Japanese customs.

If not used, they may not be able to clear import customs in Japan unless you pay customs duties and consumption taxes. In addition, when returning them, there is a risk that export customs clearance will not be possible unless permission is obtained from the Japanese Government office due to security export control and other regulations.
    • For ATA Carnet, consulting with a forwarder (customs broker) is recommended. (For examples of forwarders, please contact Users Office.)
