Rule Change on Use of Guest House from 2017B

As you might know, we have been receiving a large volume of requests for improving the Guest House’s room operation. Since the rooms have been continuously fully booked, many SPring-8/SACLA users who request to temporarily stay there have been on the waiting list. Therefore in order to make the situation better, we additionally make 60 twin rooms available in Building C from this past April. However the situation hasn’t been improved.

Therefore from the term of 2017B (operation term for beamline users), we will reconsider to revise the rule of the room operation in order to enhance the room use efficiency as many as possible.

Content details:

1. In principle, twin rooms (two people share a room that has two “single” beds) are not available as single rooms. Only if all the single rooms are booked and twin rooms are still available at 12:00 noon three days prior to the check in date, the twin rooms can be booked as single rooms.
2. About the cost of the twin room, we will charge per room ¥3,000/room/night (it doesn’t matter single/twin use). A cancellation of the reservation must be done before 16:00 two days prior to the stay. Otherwise there will be a penalty fee.
   Note: The cancellation policy to be newly established
3. If we recognize the malicious cancellation, we might decline any other reservation requests from the same party/group within the fiscal year.
4. If there are any groups that consist of many experiment participants at this campus, twin rooms should be reserved by pairing up the members as much as possible.
